assignment 6

1. Personally I don’t like being scared by other people on purpose. It’s ok if I’m watching a scary movie or at like trial or terror where they try to scare you.

2. One thing that I have a fear of is that I’m kinda claustrophobic but only when I know I can’t get out of places is when it gets me easily, and also a little afraid of heights. Alot of fears that I get come from myself cause I usually blow things out of proportions like I’ll make things scarier then they really aren’t.

3. What I would consider madness is someone who is really crazy like talking to inanimate objects when they’re like 30 or if they’re in the mental place but then again they aren’t really that mad but something is wrong with them mentally.

4. When people get picked on alot or if they’re all alone their whole life then that might drive them insane. I was watching this show (degrassi lol) and this guy got picked on constantly by people who went to school with him and he eventually brought a gun to school and shot someone that right there shows that guy is crazy.

Assignment #4

C. larger topics that joyce is addressing is like rape also i wouldn't say this is large but adulthood growing up and making choices that could effect your life.
D. i think the story appeals to so many people because it's filled with alot of conflicts that gets exciting and intense.
E. in the end i think connie does sleep with him.

I would have to say that what makes a short story great is that the
1) plot has to well thought out
2) it has to grab the reader's attention right away.
3) settings and characters they have to be descriptive more visual
4) especially with characters because you don't have an extra 300 pages to add onto the character's traits. it's like boom that's so and so in a nutshell.
5) length in a short story? i'd say 100, 150 pages tops. or if you want it super short 20 pages
6) genre and type of view personally i would say maybe young adult book, adventure and with the main character being the narrator. and with
7) conflicts i'd say more realistic drama not like comic books kinda thing even though those's are entertaining as well and i would probably like that too.
8) the story flows it's not just scattered where you're jumping from one scence to the next
9) a good strong ending that's just as strong as the beginning
10) original story

Assignment #3

The bitter cold of winter
Is like being alone and broken
You just want to stand there and hopefully freeze
Until you have no more feelings
No more emotions
You are just you with an empty feeling inside
Not knowing what can help it
Or fill it up again
Would you rather stay out of the cold and feel whole again
Or walk forward into a blizzard strom
Killing off every last bit of you

What am I a song?
The music beats as my heart beats
Words written and words spoken
Some read, some heard
As it's being read like a book
I close the cover
